Taking a Whole Systems Approach to Achieve Integration, Growth and Business Impact

There are many reasons why so many leadership initiatives fail. Employees might like attending the training, but all too often the real objective – creating change across an entire organization that drives performance to a common goal – is not achieved. An effective leadership program requires alignment and integration with all its organizational systems. It also demands a comprehensive people development strategy that is customized to all levels. In this Wells Fargo Case study session you will learn:
  • Why and how Wells Fargo’s “Invest in People” strategy was the key to achieving their organizational change and business growth goals
  • How to examine all aspects of your organizational system to ensure integration and business impact
  • How an on-going learning process of business alignment, application, reinforcement and reward is required to drive and maintain the performance improvement – and what it looks like
  • The measures that were used to demonstrate the program’s positive business impact

The REAL ROI of Leadership Development: American Express Case Study
September 20, 2006, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
e-Seminar

With its primary focus on business results and return on investment, American Express has spent the last two years studying how to most effectively deliver best-in-class leadership development training for its global population of people leaders - web-based, instructor-led, and a blended approach. While companies all over the globe are scrambling to offer their employees a variety of training delivery, there exists little, if any, research to support their ultimate investment decisions. American Express has analyzed results from these three delivery options measuring behavioral change, productivity improvement and ROI from hundreds of learning experiences.

In this e-Seminar American Express will (1) present which learning delivery method had the most measurable impact; (2) compare the ROI of each; and (3) share what environmental factors ensured the highest impact, regardless of the delivery method.

Speakers:

  • Mr. Paul Leone, Ph.D, Director of Leadership Effectiveness, American Express
  • Mr. Jeff Snipes, CEO and Co-founder, Ninth House, Inc.

Ninth House Sponsors Women In Technology Atlanta Event with Clifton Taulbert
September 20, 2006
Buckhead - Maggianos
Atlanta, GA

Ninth House faculty member, Clifton Taulbert, a Pulitzer-nominated author and President and Founder of the Building Community Institute, will be speaking at the Women In Technology Atlanta.

We understand that results are achieved through people; thus the need for those in leadership positions to proactively create a community, an environment that welcomes others to the workplace process, is essential for today’s companies. In this presentation, Clifton Taulbert will explore the value and dynamics of Building Community in 21st Century Workplaces where technology is a significant driver. He will also discuss why such a process remains a priority issue for those in leadership.

  • How does the workplace look when community is absent?
  • What impact does community have on the workplace bottom line?
  • Is community essential to maximize and fully utilize the skills, experiences and perspectives of the whole team?
  • What does the lack of community mean for those who follow?

Clifton Taulbert, author of the Eight Habits of the Heart, will introduce these eight timeless and universal principles as leadership tools to understand, embrace and employ in building community within the workplace- a needed connector in the information age. The Eight Habits are as follows: Nurturing Attitude, Responsibility, Dependability, Friendship, Brotherhood, High Expectations, Courage and Hope. The objective is that leaders become these habits through multiple micro-acts of workplace selflessness. According to Taulbert, resulting from these acts, within the workplace, will be R.A.I. (Respect, Affirmation and Inclusion) whose presence builds effective follow-ship and empowers the team to achieve beyond expectations.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to drop their business cards at the Ninth House, Inc. table to win a new black, 30GB iPod + Video.
