Clifton Taulbert Speaks at Women In Technology Atlanta Event

Over 100 of Atlanta’s technology companies participated at the September 20th Women in Technology (WIT) meeting sponsored by Ninth House. In order to break down barriers to authentic leadership, Clifton Taulbert, Pulitzer-prize nominated author and faculty member at Ninth House, asked attendees to shed their titles by ripping their business cards.

Based upon his “Eight Habits of the Heart,” Taulbert introduced these principles as leadership tools to better understand, embrace and employ in building community within the workplace. The Eight Habits include nurturing attitude, responsibility, dependability, friendship, brotherhood, high expectations, courage and hope. He espoused that “leaders become these habits through multiple micro-acts of workplace selflessness.”

According to Taulbert, results from these acts within the workplace will emerge - Respect, Affirmation and Inclusion (R.A.I). The presence of R.A.I. empowers the team to achieve beyond expectations and builds fellowship.
